Xposed Framework! Ever heard about this?! Well, If you’re Android Geek, then it would be wise for you to know about Xposed, the framework & its functionalities. I’m very happy to commence this all new adventurous series on HackeRoyale. The series is brought to you by me h4ck0d3r & my companion Neo. This is the first, basic & introductory part to the Xposed framework, its uses & advantages…

Xposed framework is a an environment specifically designed to tweak the apps without interfering with your basic OS preferences & APKs. In short, it provides you a very cool option to customize your Android as you wish, with plenty of its modules, without any need to flash custom ROM’s! That’s crazy yeah! 😉

These modules work for several different versions & ROM’s. All changes are made in memory, hence it becomes possible to undo any actions whenever you want , just simply by deactivating the particular module. You can do any changes or restore it this way on a simple reboot!

Meanwhile, Magisk trying to replace the Xposed Framework in the Aspects of modules and Frequent updates. However, it doesn’t meet the status what Xposed got now. In between these two Currently, new app Called Virtual Xposed Apk Coming into a picture to Run the Xposed Modules in a Virtual Space. The major drawback of this app is, It cannot Run the modules which deal with the System part. So, It is the limited edition of the Xposed Framework developed by Android hacker from XDA.

Getting Started to the Xposed Framework!

Lets see what you need before installing Xposed
  • A properly Rooted Android Phone. If its not, read our rooting guide here.
  • SuperSU flashed.
  • Custom Recovery flashed. (Any TWRP, CWM, Philz is fine)

Make sure you have “Unknown Sources” option enabled before moving on to the installation.

Goto your phone’s Settings > Security. Enable the Unknown Sources option.

Now, Download Xposed Installer from here.

If you’re running ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) version, you may come across “Segmentation Fault” installation error. Install this apk for the patch.

When you open the app, you’re greeted with this screen:

Framework consists of options to install, uninstall, soft boot, reboot.

While Modules actually consists of the downloaded modules, which are the backbone of Xposed Framework.

As we’ve just installed the framework now, it does not find any module, and hence displays the following message.

In Download section, you can search for various modules downloads, & install them. When you open it, it brings you the default compatible modules for you.

You can see the Settings too, for more information.

You can check for the recent activity log in Logs Section.

The About section gives description about the developer team.
There are many cool modules that you can try up-to your comfort!
We’ll glance in brief through some of the popular & my favorite modules, such as xStana, XuiMod, xSuite, Gravity Box etc. in coming parts of this series.
